TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian armys special units aborted what could be a horrific terrorist blast after they discovered and defused a three-wheeler in Northwestern Syria packed with over 50 kilograms of improvised explosive devices (IEDs).The army arrested the three-wheeler's driver named Alaa Al-Aba in Kafria village in the Northwestern province of Idlib and defused the explosives he had planted inside his vehicle.
Al-Aba planned to explode the explosive-laden three-wheeler by a remote control device. He acknowledged that he was a member of Al-Nas Al-Zain terrorist group and from Ariha city in Reef Idlib.
The conflict in Syria started in March 2011, when sporadic pro-reform protests turned into a massive insurgency following the intervention of western and regional states.
The unrest, which took in terrorist groups from across Europe, the Middle-East and North Africa, has transpired as one of the bloodiest conflicts in recent history.
As the foreign-backed insurgency in Syria continues without an end in sight, the US government has boosted its political and military support to Takfiri extremists.
Washington has remained indifferent to warnings by Russia and other world powers about the consequences of arming militant groups.
