Tehran, Oct 5, IRNA – Senior Sunni cleric and representative of Kurdestan province in the Assembly of Experts Mamosta Abdolrahman Khodaie said the remarks and the meetings of President Hassan Rouhani in New York were inspired by the guidelines of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
Talking to IRNA, he described as very influential the speech of President Rouhani in the United Nations General Assembly and said during the speech he outlined Iran’s general policy which is based on promoting peace, tranquility and human rights.
Commenting on the phone talk between President Rouhani and his US counterpart Barack Obama, he said the dialogue was fruitful. He added that during the conversation President Rouhani outlined the principles of the Islamic system based on the guidelines of the Supreme Leader.
He said though some extremists dislike improvements in Iran’s relations with world countries, the fact is that Islam deplores extremism and is interested in moderation.
