Iran finds sites, locations for building more power plants

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi announced on Tuesday that locations for building new power plants jointly with Russia have been found, and the required plans have been made to build the facilities in southern and northern coasts of Iran.
"Locations and sites for construction of the atomic power plant have been found," he said, adding the country plans to build power plants and desalination facilities in southern coasts of the country to provide needs of southern provinces to drinking water.

Iran has started talks with Russia to start operational activities, he said, adding the negotiations have yielded successful results so far.

Salehi continued the number of power plants which are to be built jointly with Russia would be announced later after agreement between the two sides.
