TEHRAN (FNA)- Acting head Of National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) Seyyed Naser Sajjadi said the company distributes 260 million liters of different oil products each day across the country.Speaking at a NIOPDCs conference, Sajjadi said despite expansion of gas network across the country NIOPDC is responsible for distribution of a great amount of oil products indicating its importanct place in supplying energy needs.
He added that the company accounted for distribution of 40 percent of the oil products last year showing considerable rise when compared with a year earlier.
Gas consumption has remained unchanged in recent years but oil products consumption has been on the rise steadily, a sign of sensitivity of NIOPDCs business, the official said.
On gasoline consumption, he said: before rationing gasoline in 2007, gasoline consumption rose by 10 percent annually.
According to him, if the trend had continued gasoline consumption would have reached 132 million liters per day this year.
Implementation of gasoline rationing scheme reduced its consumption to 64 ml/d which along with rising CNG supply curbed gasoline consumption significantly, the official said.
