Tehran won't give up 'people's right' to nuclear program

New Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has said his "government will not give up the "people's right" to a nuclear program "one bit."
Rohani made the remark in a speech to clerics on September 10.
Rohani said Western countries should understand that they will achieve "the least success through sanctions and pressure" against Iran.

He said if the West uses the "language of logic, reason, and mutual understanding" in nuclear negotiations, Tehran is "ready to respond in the language of wisdom, prudence, and logic."

Later this month, Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif and EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton are expected to meet in New York to resume negotiations over Iran's disputed nuclear program, which the West suspects is aimed at making a nuclear bomb.

Tehran denies the claim.
