Tehran, Sept 10, IRNA Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is to meet with the European Union foreign policy chief Catherin Ashton on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York, senior Foreign Ministry official announced Tuesday.The first female spokesperson of Irans Foreign Ministry Marziyeh Afkham made the announcement while she was speaking to domestic and foreign reporters at her first weekly press conference.
She added that the meeting should not be considered as Irans talks with the Group 5+1.
Zarif-Ashton meeting will take place to make preparations for the next round of Iran-5+1 talks.
As for Irans next nuclear negotiating team, Afkham said the next head and members of the negotiating team will be chosen through a special mechanism.
She added that information about the new negotiating team will be made public in due time.
Last week, President Hassan Rohani assigned the Foreign Ministry as the body in charge of nuclear talks.
