TEHRAN (FNA)- A senior Russia diplomat said that Irans presidential election on June 14 was unique, calling Iran a stable country with high political prowess.Russian Ambassador to Iran Levan Dzhagaryan referred to Irans 11th presidential elections, saying I believe it was very important that the elections were held successfully and the Iranian people had active presence at the election polls and showed sensitivity towards their civil responsibility and the fate of their country.
Dzhagaryan added, Under the current conditions, the political atmosphere in Iran is quite normal and many analysts believe that the new Iranian president is an experienced personality and possesses the required qualifications for being a president.
He added, During my days as the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), Iranian President Hassan Rouhani proved that he is a professional and realistic politicians and I am sure he can make a cabinet of highly-experienced ministers and provide proper functions of the countrys economic and social apparatus and their development, as well as strengthening Irans status at the international scene, the Islamic republic news agency reported.
Rouhani emerged victorious in Iran's June 14 presidential election, which was marked by a high voter turnout. He won 50.7 percent of the votes.
The Interior Ministry put voter turnout at 72.7 percent.
Rouhani has been a representative of Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei at the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) for nearly two decades. He is also a member of the Expediency Council and the Assembly of Experts, and was the president of the Expediency Council's Center for Strategic Research.
