Iranian researcher discovera music effect on epilepsy treatment
TEHRAN (ISNA)- An Iranian researcher at Mashhad University has found out that music can act positively in treatment of epilepsy and IQ improvement.
The results of the research have suggested that Mozart classical music proves effectively in healing epilepsy, adverse cerebral, boosting IQ and neurons, activation of vision, hearing and motion fields, Samaneh Sadat Dastgheib, a physician and lead author of the project told ISNA.

Over 86 percent of people suffering epilepsy have given positive responses to music therapy and the epileptic waves in the EEG have decreased by music. The waves lowered up to 38 percent during the listening time and by 23 percent after the listening period.

Dastgheib added that according to the studies, those listening to Mozart music and songs for 6 months face less epileptic attacks comparing to the 6 months during which they listened to no song.

According to the Iranian researcher, there is a direct relationship between epileptic attacks and the number of waves in the EEG.
