TEHRAN, July 29 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Persepolis soccer team denied earlier reports that the club has had negotiations to sign Alessandro Del Piero, Tehran Times daily reported on Monday.
Persepolis spokesman Hossein Ghoddusi said the team has no plan to sign the Sydney FC striker.

"We have not negotiated with Del Piero at all. Persepolis has no money to spend," he was quoted as saying.

Ex-Juventus striker had joined Sydney FC on a two-year deal in September 2012.
