21st Qur'an exhibition starts in Tehran

The Qur'an, is the holy book of Islam and Muslims believe it to be the verbatim word of God. Muslims recite the holy book like people of other religions, but there are also those who memorize or research it. There are all sorts of events in the Islamic world about the book, now in Iran this is what's happening.
Iran's President along with the minister of culture attended the inauguration ceremony. The minister's deputy for Qur'an talked about the significance of this years event.

Hamid Mohammadi said "Logically to reach Qur'an's ideal civilization, the way of life should be based on it and this should be our path toward it." The Qur'an Deputy of the Ministry of Culture said "Therefore continuous efforts should be made to make Qur'an part of the culture and means should be created to base people's lives on the holy book."

Mohammadi also talked about President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's help in boosting funds for Qur'anic research and events, despite the countrys difficult economic situation.

Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad elaborated on the importance of the book as a way of life.

Ahmadinejad said, Qur'an is the book of mankind's movement from earth toward God. It is the plan for movement. Its the direction toward perfection. Its the plan of realizing all the capabilities of mankind. Without the book, without a law, without a plan, its impossible for mankind to reach its peak.

The event also honored those that had made efforts for Qur'an, including reciters, memorizers, researchers and all those active in the field. The exhibition will be open to the public for a month till August 6th 2013.
