Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov[/caption]TEHRAN (FNA)- Russia said that certain progress has been made in the recent talks between experts from Iran and the six world powers in Istanbul, Turkey.
Speaking on Thursday, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov expressed Russia's content over the latest round of expert-level talks in Istanbul.
"We believe there's been a certain progress following the expert panel in Istanbul," Ryabkov stated.
"It is tangible but not sufficient to call it a breakthrough," the Russian diplomat stated.
"The dynamics of these talks suggest that this progress can still be reversed. We find it a bit unsettling, although the discussion has taken on a more serious, deep and businesslike approach after the string of negotiations."
On Wednesday, China said that the recent meeting in Istanbul between experts from Iran and the six world powers has increased mutual understanding between the two sides.
Speaking to reporters, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hong Lei hailed the recent expert-level talks between Iran and the Group 5+1 (the five permanent UN Security Council members plus Germany).
"The meeting has increased mutual understanding among parties concerned and (this) is helpful," Hong said.
The Chinese spokesman called on all the concerned parties to step up diplomatic efforts, seek common ground and iron out differences to push forward the talks in a bid to make progress on the Iranian nuclear issue in the near future.
Tehran announced on Tuesday that experts from Iran and the six world powers discussed details of their proposals during the recent talks in Istanbul.
In a statement, Iran's Supreme National Security Council said the Iranian and G5+1 (Britain, China, France, Russia, and the United States plus Germany) experts have discussed various aspects of proposals put forward by both sides.
According to the statement, the discussions revolved around proposals presented by Iran during the meeting in Moscow in June 2012, and offers given by the G5+1 during negotiations held in the Kazakh city of Almaty on February 26-27.
The statement added that results achieved in the two-day meeting will be presented at the upcoming round of talks in Almaty on April 5-6.
