4-elding-gas-pipeline_550x300ISLAMABAD: The Federal Cabinet has given final approval to the Pak-Iran gas pipeline project, rejecting any pressure regarding the project.
According to sources, the Federal Cabinet was informed that the construction of the Pak-Iran gas pipeline will be completed by January 2015 and Iran will give Pakistan $500 million at two different phases for the completion of the plan.

The Cabinet has declared the Pak-Iran gas pipeline project in national interest, adding that the project should be completed as soon as possible.

The Federal Cabinet has also decided to complete the project with mutual cooperation, instead of with foreign aid.

In view of the expected sanctions on the Pak-Iran gas pipeline, the cabinet also agreed to form an advisory committee of four institutions.

The committee will include members from the State Bank, Law Ministry, Petroleum Ministry and Ministry of Finance.
