Iranian MP slams France's interference in Iran's internal affairs

borujerdiAn Iranian lawmaker has slammed France for its interference in Irans internal affairs, advising Paris to address the situation of political prisoners in the European country itself.
On Tuesday, Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of Iran's Majlis Alaeddin Boroujerdi denounced French Foreign Ministry spokesman Philippe Lalliot's remarks as a violation of diplomatic principles.

France has no right to interfere in Irans internal affairs, Boroujerdi said.

Instead of improperly interfering in Irans internal affairs, the spokesman of the French Foreign Ministry had better visit Paris prisons and end the deplorable situation of the political prisoners in France, the Iranian lawmaker said.

Referring to the arrest of many protesters during socio-political crises in France, Boroujerdi advised the French government to mind the situation of its own prisoners.

Many protesters were arrested by the French police in 2012 when the governments plan to increase the minimum retirement age from 60 to 62 led to widespread demonstrations and coordinated strikes.
