Iranhosted its 12th International Environment Exhibition last week, which state media hailed as a "resounding success."According to the State-run Press TV website, the three-day expo was held under the banner of "Promoting environment protection, basis for sustainable development."
Some 500 companies from Iran, thePersian Gulfand several European countries attended the conference, which took place in Tehran.
The Iranian conference had three major panels: Natural environment, man andenvironmentand maritime environment.
Other panels discussed the petrochemical industry's environmental footprints urban development and sustainability, air and noisepollutionand waste management and recycling.
Tehran's Environment Protection Organization chief and its minister of Industry, Mines and Trade were the expo's two keynote speakers.
