Khar, Asim reiterate completion of Pak-Iran gas project in time

4-elding-gas-pipeline_550x300ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar on Thursday said that President Asif Ali Zardari would soon visit Iran and the gas pipeline project would be completed in the given time frame. While Adviser to Prime Minister Dr Asim Hussain also said that the Pakistan-Iran Gas Pipeline Project would be completed by the end of 2014 as per the schedule.
Talking to the media outside the Parliament House, Khar said Pakistan and Iran had been enjoying good relations and the government has strengthened ties with Iran.

Replying to a question, she said Pakistan stuck to its stance on the Kashmir issue adding that the Kashmir issue was highlighted at every international forum according to aspirations of the people. She said Pakistan categorically opposed the US drone attacks on its land which is a violation of its sovereignty.

She said Pakistans bilateral relations improved with India, Afghanistan and United States during the current year. To another question foreign minister said, peace and stability in Afghanistan in the favour of Pakistan and entire region and Pakistan supports peace process in Afghanistan.

Condemning the attacks on polio workers She said fool proof security would be provided to the polio workers and are in touch with the international health workers organizations. Meanwhile, Advisor to Prime Minister on Petroleum and Natural Resources Dr Asim Hussain on Thursday said that the Pakistan-Iran Gas Pipeline Project would be completed by the end of 2014 as per schedule.

Talking to media persons outside the Parliament House, Dr Asim said that the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) had set up a committee for resolving the CNG issue. The final decision about the CNG prices will be taken by the ECC, he added.
