Police commander: People should be careful about deceiving scenarios

IRNA – Iranian Police Commander Brigadier General Hossein Ashtari said on Tuesday that people should watch out not to be deceived by the plots indicating fake death tolls during recent protests.

Police has found traces of certain moves in recent events which was led from outside the country, he said.

A series of protests were formed in various provinces which had roots in poor economic status of people, Brigadier General Ashtari said adding, however, a number of opportunists winning support of our enemies and the US have tried to fish from the troubled waters through storming public assets and killing of people to trigger unrest and peoples dissatisfaction, he said.

Police is to stand by the people and against the law-breakers and will under no circumstances let calmness and security of the citizens to be put at risk, the police commander said.

All police forces nationwide have been ordered to seriously deal with those threatening the lives of people or looters of public assets, he said.

Presently the situation is under control as the police will spare no efforts to maintain the country’s security, the commander said.
