Leader's delegation in west of Iran to file reports on killer quake

IRNA A delegation from the Leader of the Islamic Revolution was dispatched Tuesday to the quake-hit areas in west of the country in order to visit the scene and file reports on the problems the quake-stricken people suffer from there.


The delegation has a mission from Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei to visit the process of rescue operations in the quake-stricken areas and estimate the loss of property caused by the fatal 7.3 magnitude quake which killed 430 people and injured about 7,500 in west of Iran on Sunday night, according to the website of the leader's Office, kamenei.ir

The strong earthquake occurred at 21:48 hour local time (18:18 GMT) in western provinces of Iran and areas in the eastern Iraq causing the biggest damage in Iran's Kermanshah, Qasr-e Shirin and Sarpol-e Zahab (about 15km from the Iraqi border) cities.

Soon after the tragic event, the Leader in a message urged military and civil officials to spare no effort in giving aid to the affected families.
