Tehran-Ankara ties enters new phases: Iran Foreign Ministry

IRNA Iran and Turkey relations have entered new phases, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi said on Monday.


Chief of the general staff of Turkey Hulusi Akar will pay visit to Tehran in the near future in response to his Iranian counterpart Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri visit to Ankara, he noted.

The official said that the US President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an will also pay visit to Iran in the near future.

'I hope the visits deepen ties at all levels,' he stressed.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Qasemi pointed to the anti-Iranian allegations of some Persian Gulf littoral states and said, 'These are continuation of certain states' Iranophobia policies.'

Commenting on Iran-Saudi relations, he said, 'We are waiting for Saudi Arabia's change of behavior and its positive attempts and measures towards Iran.'

He urged Riyadh to abandon Yemen and 'end the bombardments'.
