IRNA – The Islamic Republic of Iran uses its missile power to defend its citizens and at the same time advance the common global fight to uproot Daesh and extremist terrorists, says Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.
“Iran’s missile capability protects its citizens in lawful self-defense and advances common global fight to eradicate ISIS [Daesh] and extremist terror,” Zarif wrote in a Twitter message on Monday.
Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) announced Sunday night that it had carried out a missile attack, targeting the headquarters and logistics centers of the Takfiri terrorists in Deir Ez-Zor, the largest city in eastern Syria.
Iran said the attack was conducted to punish perpetrators of the June 7 terrorist attacks in Tehran.
After the Takfiri terrorists’ attacks in the Iranian capital that left 18 killed and dozens more wounded, the IRGC announced that the spilling of innocent blood will not go unanswered.
The IRGC forces used bases in Kermanshah and Kordestan provinces in western country to fire six mid-range ground-to- ground missiles and destroy command centers of the Takfiri terrorists in Syria.
