Iran, Russia to implement 18 joint research projects

FNA- The Iranian and Russian authorities in a meeting in Tehran on Monday finalized plans to implement 18 joint research projects.

The meeting was held between President of the Iranian National Science Foundation (INSF) Nosratollah Zarqam and Chairman of the Board of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research Panchenko Vladislav Yakovlevich.

During the meeting, the two sides finalized the plans to implement the 18 joint research projects for the year 2016-2017, and underlined the necessity for cooperation in more arenas.

Head of Iran's National Space Center Manouchehr Manteqi stressed in November that Tehran and Moscow can further boost their cooperation in aerospace fields.

"Iran and Russia have good capacities for broadening of aerospace cooperation; both countries should use this opportunity," Manouchehr Manteqi said, addressing a specialized aviation conference in Kish Island.

He underlined that Iran has many capacities in the field of air industries, manpower, airport equipment and aircraft repair and maintenance.

"Iran wants joint venture in production of 50-seat to 100-seat passenger airplanes and assembling parts," Manteqi added.
