Georgian PM is to visit Iran within days: Zarif

IRNA Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said the Prime Minster of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashviliis is supposed to take a trip to Iran within days.


Zarif made the remarks after holding a Tuesday meeting with his Georgian counterpart Mikheil Janelidze.

During the meeting, Zarif pointed to both countries plans for comprehensive promoting of cooperation, saying that different cooperation fields including transit, industry, training and international bodies and regional issues have been reviewed.

The Persian Gulf corridor to Black Sea is a good opportunity to make regional countries closer to each other, to decrease products transfer prices and to enable Iran, Azerbaijan and Armenia to establish cooperation he said.

Foreign Minister Zarif is on a tour to three Central Asian and Caucasian countries. The trip takes place on the eve of the 25th independence anniversary of these countries and 25 years after Irans diplomatic ties with them.
