VP: No chance for Trump's plan to renegotiate N. deal with Iran

FNA- Iranian Vice-President and Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi underlined that Tehran would never accept to renegotiate its 2015 nuclear deal with the world powers.

"We are not supposed to renegotiate the nuclear deal. The negotiations have been held and we have said this on different occasions. Therefore, the nuclear deal will remain as it is and this will benefit all," Salehi said on Sunday.

"Actually, there is no more room for renegotiating the nuclear deal," he stressed.

In relevant remarks in February, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif dismissed the possibility for renegotiating the 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and the world powers.

"I believe that (US President Donald) Trump may make attempts for renegotiation. It is clear that neither Iran nor the Europeans and the international community will accept renegotiation," Zarif said.

He predicted hard days for Iran given the US tendency to avoid implementation of its undertakings based on the nuclear deal, and said, "We didnt have easy days in the past year either (given the Obama administration's similar behavior towards the nuclear agreement)."

Elaborating on the reason for the former US administration to sit to the negotiating table along with other world powers to talk with Iran on the nuclear issue, Zarif said, "Because it had exhausted all other ways. They had imposed the harshest sanctions against Iran (in the past) and they couldnt attain results better than this."
