Iran favors multilateral trade with Albania in Europe, Asia

IRNA Head of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) Gholam-Hossein Shafei says Iran and Albania can have multilateral trade in Europe and Asia.

Speaking in a meeting with Albanian Foreign Minister Ditmir Bushati in Tehran on Saturday, Shafei said Iran may serve as gate of Albania's entry to Central Asia and Afghanistan, while Albania may play the same role for Iran to enter markets southeast of Europe.

Shafei added that the Iran-Albania trade volume is so low and stressed that Iran is highly willing to expand commercial relations with Muslim country of Albania.

He said such offers as double tax exemption and use of preferential trade agreements would result in expansion of the Tehran-Tirana trade.

He expressed the hope that presence of Albanian Foreign Minister Ditmir Bushati in Iran could be a turning point in trade cooperation between Iran and Albania.

Bushati at the head of a trade-economic delegation arrived in Tehran on Saturday.
He is due to meet with a number of Iranian officials, including Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif.
