Irans deputy FM to visit Paris Thursday

Tasnim Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for American and European Affairs Majid Takht Ravanchi is scheduled to travel to France on Thursday for talks with French officials.

Takht Ravanchi will leave Tehran for Paris later today to take part in regular political negotiations between Iranian and French foreign ministry officials.

He will also discuss bilateral ties as well as regional and international issues with Frances deputy foreign minister.

Diplomats from the foreign ministries of Iran and France held the first round of regular political talks in Tehran in May, in line with a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that the two countries signed during Iranian President Hassan Rouhanis visit to Paris back in January.

According to the MoU, the two countries foreign ministries agreed to hold regular political negotiations.

During the Iranian presidents visit to Paris in January, the two countries drew a roadmap for expansion of mutual cooperation.

Top officials from the two sides also signed a series of trade deals worth billions of dollars during the visit.
