In an unveiling ceremony held on Sunday morning, a number of new achievements by the Islamic Republic of Iran Army Aviation (IRIAA) were inaugurated at the presence of Commander of the Iranian Army's Ground Forces Brigadier General Ahmadreza Pourdastan.
During the event, a simulator of 209 tactical helicopter, dubbed as Gader 5, was made public.
The system, which has been designed and developed indigenously by domestic experts, helps 209 helicopter pilots hone their flying skills while firing the TOW missiles mounted on their combat aircraft.
The surveillance flight project was also introduced which plays a significant role in monitoring helicopter missions.
Later, filters for 206, 209, 214, 205 and Chinook helicopters, which have been built for the first time in Iran, were displayed.
In the past, the US had the monopoly of these products which are used as oil, fuel, hydraulic and gearbox filters.
The Iranian military experts and technicians have in recent years made great headways in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient in the arms sphere.
Simulators help cadets receive better training and test their piloting and shooting skills in various weather conditions.
