TEHRAN, Jun. 07 (MNA) � Iranian and Japanese diplomats met in Tehran on Monday to discuss the latest regional developments, particularly in Syria and Yemen.


Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs, met with Director General for Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau at Japan�s Foreign Ministry here on Monday, where he outlined the Islamic Republic�s stances and policies toward regional developments.

�Regional conflicts, particularly the crises in Syria and Yemen, have no military solutions and the only feasible option for restoring peace and stability to these two counties and the region as a whole is a return to rationality and political solutions,� Amir-Abdollahian said.

He further deemed Iran�s relations with the Persian Gulf littoral states based on deep historical and cultural ties, adding �our policy has always been founded on maintaining the principles of good neighborliness and the further enhancement of relations with these countries.�

The Japanese official, for his part, highlighted the significant role of Iran in helping with the peace and stability of the region, and called for further consultations with the Islamic Republic.

He also conferred on various strategies for sending humanitarian aid to conflict zones in Syria, and commended Iran�s support for these measures.
