Tehran, May 26, IRNA � Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei met here Thursday with members of the Assembly of Experts (AE) as well as the chairman of the body Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati.


Earlier this morning, a number of members of the AE and its presiding board renewed allegiance to the Father of the Islamic Republic the late Imam Khomeini after attending his mausoleum in south of Tehran.

The fifth Assembly of Experts started its work with a message of the Supreme Leader on May 24.

The 88-member body is responsible for supervising and electing the country's supreme leader.
