Iran launches 170 virtual handicraft stores

Tehran, January 17, The Iran Project 170 virtual handicraft stores were launched in current government, said the deputy head of Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization for handicraft affairs.

Speaking at the 1st meeting of the countrys handicraft e-commerce seminar, Bahman Namvar Motlaq, the deputy head of Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization for handicraft affairs said that launching 170 virtual handicraft stores in Rouhanis government is amazing as there was not even a virtual store in the previous governments.

Namvar Motlaq referred to the significant role of e-commerce in the global trade, saying that given the removal of sanctions against the Islamic Republic, we are seeking to seriously invest in the field of e-commerce.

Now we have a good market in the countries like France, Australia, Germany, and Turkey, but as Iran is one of the three largest countries in handicraft industry, we should expand our global trade with more countries in post-sanction era, he added.

Despite the problems in legal, managerial, structural, and transport infrastructures, we are trying to resolve challenges to see the growth of e-commerce in handicraft industry in the near future.
