Amir Abdollahian calls for comprehensive peace agreement for Yemen

Tehran, Dec 27, IRNA Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian in a meeting with visiting Yemeni Ansarullah delegation in Tehran called for an agreement between Yemens political parties that would guarantee that countrys interests.


Yemens Ansarullah delegation headed by Mohammad al-Bukhaiti is currently visiting Tehran.

Amir Abdollahian pointed to the recent talks of the Yemeni groups in Switzerland, and expressed the hope that the Yemeni groups could reach an agreement entailing all interests of the Yemeni nation.

The Islamic Republic of Irans stance towards Yemen has always been in line with maintaining the peoples interests and we support the dialogue among different Yemeni sides and achieving a political solution to the Yemeni crisis, the deputy foreign minister said.

Amir Abdollahian noted that the attacks on the Yemeni institutions, residential areas, cities and villages have complicated the situation and paved the way for exploitation of the terrorist groups.

Deputy foreign minister pointed to the need for a halt to foreign interferences, all-encompassing ceasefire and breaking the human and economic siege, and underlined the need for the international communitys responsibility for stopping the constant violation of Yemens sovereignty.

Al-Bukhaiti, for his part, welcomed Irans efforts aimed at putting an end to war and dispatch of humanitarian aids to Yemen, and said that the status of the popular resistance in Yemen is favorable.
