Tehran, Oct 8, IRNA � Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs welcomed Russia's firm determination to help Syria in its ongoing fight against the terrorist groups.

'We welcome Russian President Vladimir Putin's decision for serious fight against terrorism in Syria and probably helping Iraq in the future,' Hossein Amir Abdollahian said an interview with news agency of the state television on Thursday.

He reiterated that Moscow's decision to carry out military operations in Syria took place on the Syrian government's decision when the US-led coalition that was formed for fighting the Daesh did nothing effective after nearly one year since its formation.

'We believe that the Moscow's measures are important and effective for fighting terrorism at the present juncture,' he added.

Amir Abdollahian underlined that the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue helping the Syrian and Iraqi governments and nations in their fight against terrorism.
