Iran Parliament to react to Zarif handshake with Obama: MP
Tehran, September 29, The Iran Project The Iranian MP reacts to the news related to the Iran's Foreign Minister Javad Zarif handshake with theUS President Barack Obama on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session.

Mansour Haghighat Pour the member of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy said that if confirmed, the Majlis won't be indifferent to the news. He went on to say that as long as the US continues to supports terrorism and doesn't respect the Iranians' rights, no one should talk about handshaking.

"We hope the news is not true, otherwise he definitely crosses the country's red lines," the Iranian MP added.
Meanwhile, a source close to the Iran UN delegation firmly denied that the salutation was scheduled, adding that it occurred unexpectedly when they ran into one another on the sidelines of the session.

Earlier, a US official said no meeting has been scheduled between US president Barack Obama and his Iranian counterpart, Hassan Rouhani, on the 70th annual session of the UN General Assembly.
