Final solution to Yemen, Syria is political: Rouhani

Tehran, Aug 3, IRNA - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said political solution is the final way out of on-going crises in Yemen and Syria with former under foreign military aggression and latter suffering a proxy civil war by terrorists.

He made the remarks in a televised interview on Sunday night to mark the second anniversary of assuming presidential power in 2014 during which he focused on the government's economic achievments as well as the success in nuclear negotiations.

Saying that unlike rest of the world, Zionists are angry at the nuclear deal between Iran and P5+1 group of world powers, he said, in the post-agreement era a new situation will emerge leading to expedited settlement of regional issues without Iran changing its principles.

To a question on the developments in Yemen, Palestien, and Iraq, Rouhani said, 'We have principles which are not subject to change. During the (nuclear) talks these principles did not change either.'

As Iran maintained its nuclear principles, he added, it will pursue its regional principles while the conditions for maneuvering will be faciliated.

He also cautioned against domestic expectations that with lifting of sanctions, there will be prompt outcomes in the economy and called for participation of Iranians in the country and abroad to improve the economic conditions.

President Rouhani reiterated his objection to shutting down of social media and said young Iranians used them as a means to support the nuclear negotiating team.
