Italy keen to expand ties with Iran

Rome, May 2, IRNA Federica Guidi, Italy's Minister for Economic Development, has underlined her country's willingness to expand ties with Iran.

Guidi, speaking to Iran's Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Mohammad-Reza Nematzadeh, on the sidelines of the Expo 2015 in Milan, Italy, said her country is eager to expand ties with Iran, suggesting exchange of technical delegations in that connection.

She also proposed preparing the ground for expansion of mutual industrial, economic and commercial relations between Iran and Italy.

Nematzadeh, welcoming the offer, hoped for upgrading economic and commercial ties.

Italys global commercial fair, Milan Expo 2015 opened on Saturday, May 2. The six-month event, expected to attract nearly 20 million visitors, is showcasing 54 national pavilions, among a number of corporate and multinational installations, all focused on Feeding the Planet and promoting their national cuisine. Pavilions by Foster + Partners, Herzog & de Meuron, SPEECH, Daniel Libeskind and many others will remain on view through October 31.
