Russian FM to leave Iran nuclear talks, rejoin on Tuesday


LAUSANNE (Tasnim) Russias Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is said to plan to leave negotiations on Irans nuclear program in Switzerland of Monday and may go back on Tuesday.




While foreign ministers of Iran, Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany held a plenary meeting in Lausanne on Monday morning in a final push for a preliminary framework accord on Tehrans nuclear program, Lavrov will leave the Swiss city for Moscow on Monday evening.



According to Tasnim dispatches, British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond, French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius and Germanys Frank-Walter Steinmeier are also expected to leave Lausanne for their respective capitals on Monday and join there again on Tuesday.

The Mondays ministerial session lasted for roughly one and half hours as the marathon negotiations on Irans nuclear program are reaching a climax.

The parties have been working to agree on a preliminary framework accord by the end of March, to be followed by a comprehensive deal by June 30 that includes all technical details.

The long-awaited comprehensive deal aims to end more than a decade of impasse over Tehran's civilian nuclear activities.
