EU denies entry to Iranian tankers

Mehr News reported that after Genve nuclear deal, the export of Iranian oil to the EU countries was allowed and it was agreed that with removal of parts of sanctions, Irans oil production rise to 1m barrels per day.

After two weeks of Genve deal, the EU has denied entry to Iranian tankers transporting oil and petrochemical products to its countries through passing a bill. Crude oil and petrochemical exports to the EU is virtually zero and Iran had been exporting only to non-EU members such as Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, and some other Eastern bloc countries.

Iran has the second largest oil transport convoy with 40 supertankers internationally. The Oil Minister Bejan Namdar Zanganeh in an interview with Financial Times told that after the nuclear deal, major part of psychological effects of sanctions had been removed. The joint Action Plan has not predicted conditions for raising our oil exports, he told Financial Times. We are optimistic about removal of oil sanctions and believe even it is possible to eliminate sanctions in less than 6 months. If so, then we would expand our ties with the West, he added.

Zanganeh told that India and China was the major Iran oil partners and many other positive signals had been sent to Iran for oil purchase. However, he admitted that difficulties still lingered on in Iranian oil sector.

Meanwhile, John Kerry had told the media that 9 countries including China, India, South Korea, Turkey, Taiwan, Malaysia, South Africa, Singapore, and Sri Lanka had been exempted from sanctions on Iranian oil for 6 months.
