Irans nuclear deal will benefit Russia: Analyst

A possible agreement over Iran's nuclear energy program in the course of the ongoing nuclear negotiations, will be to the benefit of Russia, a political analyst tellsPress TV.
It is in Russias interest to see a deal and the relaxation of tensions and the normalization of relations between Iran and the West and Iran does not see this as a zero-sum game that would come at the cost of Russia, said Kaveh Afrasiabi in a Saturday interview with Press TV.
Irans interest is to have normal thriving relations, trade and other relations with all its neighbors and non-neighbors, including Russia, he added.
In recent days, senior US and Western officials have said that Iran and the six powers are getting closer to a possible nuclear agreement.

Last week, Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council - Britain, China, France, Russia and the US - plus Germany, held intense discussions in the Swiss city of Geneva.

The two sides did not reach an agreement, but stressed that significant progress had been made and expressed optimism about the prospect of a possible deal in the future.

The next round of talks between Iran and the six countries is slated for November 20 in Geneva.
