Tehran, Oct 19, IRNA Three-day Iranians Film Festival was inaugurated Friday by screening the film Gold and Copper directed by Homayoun Asadian.
The films participating in the festival represent a new wave of Iranian cinema, with most of them being artistic works with political and philosophical messages.
Irans consul general in Hyderabad, Hassan Nourian, said that the festival will help enhance Iran-India bilateral ties.
The film recounts the story of a young seminary school student who has come to Qom to continue his theological studies. But his wife gets MS, creating a lot of problems for him to struggle with.
Other films scheduled to be showcased in this years festival include Here without Me by Bahram Tavakkoli, Favorite Sky by Darioush Mehrjouei, Child and Angel by Masoud Naqqashzadeh, and Family Communication by Nader Moqaddas.
Organizers of the 44th International India Film Festival have declared that Majid Majidi, noted Iranian director, is to attend the event as a guest of honor.
