Iran electoral watchdog hints at Rafsanjani rejection
Iran’s electoral watchdog Abbas-Ali Kadkhodaei has stated that the Guardian Council would bar physically feeble candidates from running for president, in an apparent hint that it could disqualify 78-year-old former President Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani from the race, Mehr reported.

 
Motahari reacts to rumours of Rafsanjani’s disqualification
According to Jamejam online, Ali Motahari, a conservative Member of Parliament has reacted to the possibility of Hashemi Rafsanjani’s disqualification, saying that the disqualification of Rafsanjani by the Guardian Council would be a dangerous measure. How do they know that Hashemi is able to run the country or not?!, he added.

 
4 presidential hopefuls withdraw their candidacy for Iran’s upcoming election
Four Iranian presidential hopefuls have abandoned race for Iran’s upcoming election, Mehr reported.

Iran’s principlist presidential hopeful Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel says the Coalition of Three does not endorse the political views of rival Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, currently the chairman of the Expediency Council, YJC said.
