Tehran, June 1, IRNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Sunday that Syria is capable of resolving the country’s political crisis by itself.
Zarif made the remarks while addressing the second conference of Friends of Syria which started in the Iranian capital this morning with participation of representatives from 25 world countries.
The conference is being held at the level of heads of foreign policy committees of the member states? parliaments and in line with Tehran?s overall policy of helping end clashes in Syria as well as establishment of peace, security and tranquility in the country which serves as the forefront of anti-Zionist struggles.

Zarif voiced Tehran’s readiness to extend humanitarian aid to Syria, saying “From the very first days of the Syrian crisis, Tehran respected legitimate demands of the Syrian nation, stressing that the crisis should be settled only through Syrian-Syrian solutions.”

Iran’s cooperation with the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Syria, hosting two conferences to help settle the crisis and presenting several diplomatic solutions to the issue were among moves made by Tehran to help end the ongoing crisis, the FM added.

Zarif reiterated that dispatch of humanitarian supplies to Syria was among other efforts made by Tehran to help resolve the crisis in the past three years.
