Tehran, May 28, IRNA - Friends of Syria are scheduled to hold second conference in Tehran in the current Iranian calendar month (May-June) to discuss Syria political crisis, Fathollah Hosseini a senior MP reported on Wednesday.
The Member of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission made the remarks in an interview with IRNA.
He noted that friends of Syria second conference will host several countries from around the world and there have been lots of requests from different states to attend the meeting.
After years of war, Syrian people now know their friends and enemies, Hosseini added.
The MP said he is hopeful that the ongoing presidential election in Syria will help establish peace, there.
The first conference of friends of Syria was held on March 12, 2014.
Hossein Sheikholeslam an advisor to the Majlis Speaker has recently declared June 1, 2014 as the date for holding the second conference.
The Islamic Republic has repeatedly expressed its opposition to any foreign intervention in Syria?s internal affairs, stressing that dialog, national reconciliation and democratic elections are the keys to resolve the humanitarian crisis in the Arab country.
