The head of Iranian Parliament’s Audit Plan and Budget Commission has announced new measures to facilitate the provision of insurance for construction workers.
Gholamreza Kateb told ISNA that a reform bill for construction workers’ insurance has been passed by his commission in Parliament.
The new legislation allows construction workers in cities and towns with fewer than 25,000 residents to obtain free work insurance; In cities with a population of 25,000 to 100,000, employers will only need to pay 30 percent of the worker insurance premiums for projects under 100 square metres; and in other circumstances, the insurance premiums can be paid in three instalments.
