Majid Rezazadeh has been removed from his position as the head of the Evin Prison Infirmary, the opposition website Kaleme reports.
According to Kaleme, Rezazadeh’s treatment of political prisoners in Evin had been very inappropriate throughout his tenure, adding that his role in the attack on Ward 350 prisoners was “destructive” and “negative”.
Kaleme reports that since the attack on prisoners of Ward 350 in April, there have been serious changes to the administrative personnel of the prison. The head of Ward 350 and some of its other officials were replaced earlier this month.
Kaleme previously reported that Rezazadeh had personally prevented the transfer of injured prisoners to hospital after the attack on Ward 350 and that some of the wounded prisoners were kept handcuffed and chained to beds in the prison infirmary.
The report also maintains that Rezazadeh was involved in the delays in transferring Hoda Saber to hospital in 2011, which led to the prisoner’s death.
