TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Defense Minister Hossein Dehqan is scheduled to make an official visit to Russia on Friday to participate in the 3rd International Security Conference, which is due to be held in Moscow on May 23-24.
Brigadier General Dehqan will take part in the conference at the invitation of the Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu.
He also plans to make a speech at the gathering to spell out Iran’s views and positions on international security and the related issues.
Delegates from more than 50 countries as well as regional and international organizations are to attend the 3rd International Security Conference in Moscow.
This year, the main topics on the agenda will be recent events in the Middle East, North Africa and Afghanistan, RIA Novosti reported.
In addition, participants will discuss the situation in Ukraine and the so-called “color revolutions.” The US has refused to attend the conference due to tensions between Moscow and Washington over Russia’s reunification with Crimea in March.
