A collection of art works displaying Iranian traditions of marriage has been exhibited in Tehran’s Naqsh-e Jahan Gallery.
The showcased works feature various traditions and culture of marriage in Iran from the Qajar period (1783-1924) to the modern era.
The exhibition entitled Ashes on Lovers, includes 11 paintings created by Pegah Valizadeh blended with the copper arts by Shahram Moslemi.
"Our visual narrations review the culture of marriage from the Qajar era when people used to marry early until now with very different traditions and culture," the artists stated.
Each of the exhibited work features a verse of a poem which is relevant to the depicted subject.
Ashes on Lovers exhibition kicked off on May 16 and will continue until May 21, 2014.
