Supreme Leader stresses need to esteem teachers

Tehran, May 7, IRNA – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said esteeming teachers and reverance for their position should become a common culture in the society.
  The Supreme Leader made the remarks here Wednesday morning while addressing a large gathering of teachers on the occasion of Teacher?s Week.
The Ayatollah noted that every society will further elevate to the same degree that it dignifies its teachers.

He further said that his annual meetings with teachers is a symbolic gesture of reverence for them.

Teacher?s Week is celebrated nationwide to commemorate the martyrdom of the renown cleric Ayatollah Morteza Motahri who was assassinated only few months after the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran.
