Germany, Belgium to stage Iranian theater

Iranian playwright and stage director Amir Reza Kouhestani’s creation Timeloss is slated to go on stage in Germany and Belgium.
Performed by Mehr Theater Group, the play is scheduled to be presented at Mousonturm in Frankfurt am Main fom May 3 to 4.

Belgium’s capital Brussels will host the ensemble at the international festival, the Kunstenfestivaldesarts, from May 7 through 10.

The play competed at several international events such as the 2013 edition of ActOral festival in the French city of Marseille and the Festival Les Vagamondes in the eastern French city of Mulhouse.

The group is also to perform the play at Theatre de Bastille in Paris and Le Manege in Maubeuge in November 2014.

Timeloss is Kouhestani’s another version of his 2001 masterpiece Dance on Glass but with his altered views.

Amir Reza Kouhestani is one of the most prolific Iranian theater directors who has participated in numerous national and international events.

Kouhestani’s adapted play Ivanov garnered rave reviews in two European countries of Germany and Belgium.

Playwright and short story writer, Amir Reza Kouhestani began his theatrical career in 1996 as a performer and wrote his first play And the Day Never Came in 1999.

He was the co-director of the International Workshop in the Theater der Welt Festival and participated in the 2003 international debate, The Rights and Roles of Young People as Artsmakers, at the London International Festival of Theatre (LIFT).
