Abutalebi slammed blocking his visa as “Breach of int. law”

12 Apr 2014 - 14:05

Nasim–   Hamid Aboutalebi, the Islamic republic’s choice for ambassador to the United Nations, slammed White House decision to block his visa, calling it a breach of international law.
In a piece released to the media, he noted that the step is even a violation of countries definite rights to appoint their own representatives in the UN and stressed that Tehran will exercise all diplomatic efforts to protest this “illegal move”.

The United States has refrained from issuing visa to Aboutalebi, because of “ties to the 1979 takeover of the US Embassy in Tehran.” Although, one of the leaders of the takeover of the US Embassy and currently a reformist journalist, Abbas Abdi, has told that Aboutalebi was not even in Tehran during the initial takeover.
