Iran and the six world powers have wrapped up the third and final day of expert-level talks on Tehran’s nuclear energy program at the UN office in Vienna.

The new round of expert-level talks between the Islamic Republic and the six world powers -- the United States, China, Russia, France, Britain, and Germany -- started on Thursday in the Austrian capital.

Iran’s team of experts was led by Hamid Ba’eedinejad, the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s director general for political affairs, while Stephen Clement, an aide to the European Union Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton, headed the opposite negotiating team.
“The parties discussed important and different technical issues within the framework of the final step of the Geneva deal in order to reach a comprehensive solution,” Ba’eedinejad said after the talks.
The talks between Tehran and the six powers are part of efforts make to seal a final deal on the Islamic Republic’s nuclear energy program. The two sides reached an interim deal on November 24, 2013, in the Swiss city of Geneva to set the stage for the full settlement of the dispute over Iran’s nuclear energy program.

Under the Geneva deal, the six countries agreed to provide Iran with some sanctions relief in exchange for Iran agreeing to limit certain aspects of its nuclear activities during a six-month period. It was also agreed that no nuclear-related sanctions would be imposed on the Islamic Republic within this timeframe.

Iran and its negotiating partners hold their previous round of high-level nuclear talks in Vienna on March 19. The two sides are set to resume negotiations on April 7-9.
