Kish, Persian Gulf, March 31, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani here on Monday underlined the need to use Sea of Oman in addition to Persian Gulf for oil exports.
He made the remarks while talking to reporters on the sidelines of his visit to Kish Island in Hormuzgan province.
?Government is committed to develop Jask Island to become a major Iranian oil terminal in the Sea of Oman.?
President Rouhani noted that Jask will turn into one of the country’s most important crude oil export terminals in the near future.
?Iran-Oman recent contract under which the Islamic Republic would supply the Persian Gulf state with natural gas through Jask Island will develop the region?s economy,? the President reiterated.
Currently, Kharg Island is regarded as Iran?s first oil export terminal in the Persian Gulf while Jask will become its second terminal in the Sea of Oman in near future.
President Rouhani arrived in Kish Island this morning.
