Berlin, Mar 17, IRNA -- A prominent Austrian expert on Iran predicts significant progress in talks between Iran and six powers over Tehran?s nuclear program.
Talking to IRNA, Walter Posch of the Berlin-based German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) said he expects ?considerable progress? in the Iran nuclear negotiation process over the next months.

The nuclear talks have finally reached a ?serious phase,? Posch stressed.

The western side is now convinced that Iran?s leadership wants a nuclear agreement. There is a will. There are experienced negotiation teams on both sides. One can be cautiously optimistic and so am I, he added.

Posch pointed to the importance of a step-by-step mechanism aimed at boosting mutual confidence in the negotiation process.

Talks on a final nuclear accord between Iran and the so-called P 5+1 group (Russia, US, China, England, France plus Germany) are scheduled to resume in Vienna on Tuesday.

Under a six-month interim deal, Tehran agreed to curb some of its nuclear activities in exchange for lifting some of the western sanctions.
